Anyone else read the uglies series by scott westerfield?

I didn't think I would like them cuz I dont like future-y, sci-fi stuff, but I really enjoyed them, It has romance mixed in with all the adventure and like presssures of "fitting in" It's kinda like The host, but not really.

This is my synopsis with no spoilers: The chick, Tally Youngblood, Is ordered by Special Circumstances to find her friend, Shay, who ran away to keep from being turned "pretty", otherwise Tally will never be turned pretty and will forever be a misfit. But when she gets to the hidden hideout,where you never have to become pretty and brainwashed, The Smoke...She finds that may be all she really wanted all along, but how can she run from the vile Specials?

Then it keeps going,
Uglies
Pretties
Specials
Extras (this one isn't my fave since it is'nt written from Tally's POV and it's kinda weird cuz this chick is CLUELESS, but it's good and if this book was written in Tally's veiw, it wouldnt be that interesting so I guess I know whay the author did it)

Basically I want someone to talk about them to, cuz they are good books.

I thought they sounded weird too, but tons of kids at my school were reading them and I wanted to know what the big deal was.
Also I was bored and didn't have anything to read (Before Twilight so sont get mad at me)

They were pretty awesome and the author is really creative.

I've read em...they were pretty good books...I hate scifi...well...strongly dislike it...and I liked the books...the story line is interesting...though I think my favorite was specials...because of the connection between all of the Cutters...I haven't read Extras though...is it worth reading?

Well I read it cuz I cant STAND to not finish a series but you really dont need to read it unless you wan tot know what happenes to Tally, Shay, and David. =)

Specials was my fave too, I like how Tally is the last cutter/special.
And how Dr.Cable became nice, hahahaha
The mind rain made everything all confusing tho, everything is different like there's no more Uglies, Prettes and Specials there are like, a whole bunch of differant groups.
Kinda like Zane and her and shay and stuff were in the crims, but they all have different trends.
Like some ppl put those "spinny tattoos" (what are they called???) all over there body.
Its kinda weird, but you should probally read it.

I think I'll read it...since you recomend it...I was soooo excited that Dr. Cable turned good too...she bugged me sooo much...so did David...I didn't really like him at all...I thought Zane was better...but I read them a while ago...I loved the spinny tattoos...=)

lol...nice...if I were in that book...I would get like fifty of those tattoos... though I dislike tattoos in general...I like the ones from the book...=)

haha, I love tattoos. If a guy I'm with has tattoos. OH MY GOODNESS! *drool* piercings and tats are hot. in my opinion. But I don't like the tattooed sleeves or anything I'm talkin like tat here and there is sexy.
