Sequel/s Predictions!What do you think/hope will happen in potential sequel/s?

Maggie, Sharon and Lacey would die
Jamie got kidnapped, Wanda has to return to the Soul community in order to rescue him. When she's captured, she tries to convince the other souls. They decided to send her to another planet. The others save her.... *imagination runs wild  *

I think that everyone will have babies and that there will be some drama surrounding said babies. 
Really, what else could she write about? lol. I've been trying to figure out what the sequels could hold by the titles- 'The Soul', 'The Seeker'. But unfortunately, they don't give me much to work with = /

About the titles, I have some ideas too. While the first book, the host, was about a soul lost in a human world, the second book could be about some humans in the soul community. Like the little child in that family. Maybe the souls' way of thinking will be changed by humans. They would finally see that they were wrong. And somehow when the souls were trying to give the planet back to the humans, the seeker stopped them. And there goes the last book.
How about that?

I'm pretty sure that Stephenie Meyer is going to stick with her original characters (with a few add-ins, of course) but about the only thing I've been able to come up with based on the titles is the POV the next book might be in. Since this one was titled "The Host" and it's [more or less] Wanda's POV about Melanie, maybe the next one ("The Soul") will be Melanie's POV about Wanda... but not in a way that all Melanie is doing is talking about and observing Wanda; just to the point where Wanda is seen from someone else's perspective. Basically, I'm betting on the next book being from Melanie's POV, even though SM pretty much set the story up so that it could be all about Wanda from here on out if she wanted it to be.
HORRIBLE THOUGHT: What if (like you mentioned) the next two books are totally different stories by totally different people (a random soul and a/the seeker)? I don't think I would enjoy them at all if they weren't primarily about life in the caves  . But then again, if she wasn't going to go down the cave route, why would she have introduced a whole new set of cave people right before the story ended?

That's an interesting theory.
They're separated now so it'd be totally different from the first book. Mel would never know what Wanda was thinking and doing.
No, what I meant was the book'd still be in Wanda's POV but she'd meet the human child or someone in the cave gets captured, and then they'd change the way souls think about humans

Hmmm I like your assumptions. here's mine:
I think that the books will probable stay in Wanda's POV, but how awesome would it be if the next one was Ian's? Or Jared's? I think that would be amazing. But I do think something horrible will happen in the next one, something terrible, and it'll have to be the humans that'll save Wanda. Just my thought..... About the Seeker, if that book is made, I cannot make guesses until I read the second one. =]

Well, SM did mention that some of her favorite characters will die, so it'll definitely be horrible

Uh.... What? She said that? Crap. I doubt Lacey is one of her favorite characters (same goes for Maggie and Sharon) so maybe Jeb will die. She seems to like Jeb and he's old. Hmm.... who else? Maybe... Doc. Maybeeee..... Who else is there? XD. I'm trying to name off likable characters I wouldn't mind seeing die. Ian, Jared, Melanie, Sunny, Wanda, Jamie and Kyle are no's. Well, maybe Sunny can go. But not Kyle (I just started liking him last night, haha. Don't take him away so soon!) and definitely no one else on the list.

If SM starts killing people off, I think Jeb will be one of the first ones to go. And honestly, I probably wouldn't mind that much XD. Just as long as Maggie doesn't take over or something. It was bad enough reading about that in fan fiction.

If Stephenie does kill off Jeb (which I really hope she doesn't) who would take over if not Maggie. I mean she is Jeb's sister, and one of the oldest. Of course everyone like Jared better....

I don't think people would want Maggie to take over and I really can not see Ian, Kyle, Jared, etc... bowing down to her the way they did for Jeb- gun or no gun.

I've been thinking, and I think that if SM were going to make anyone have a baby, Kyle and Sunny would be the first. That would make for some wicked drama, wouldn't it?

ooh i got an idea!
my theory about "the seeker" is that burns (the soul with the other humans at the end of the book) is actually a under cover seeker, tagging along with the humans to find all the rebel human's hideouts. im not sure how, but eventully wanda and the humans figure this out (maybe he freaks out when he discovers that wanda told the humans the soul's secret and he couldnt keep up his "native" act).
thats all i got so far.
i also like the idea about wanda getting in trouble and the humans saving her.

I've already considered that. I thought that maybe the humans at the end of the book were posing as rebel humans to catch other rebel humans through a deal with the seekers: Act like rebels to catch the rebels and we'll let you live!
But I reread the end bit and that doesn't seem likely.

I think it'd be cool if Stephenie did sequels from different people. It'd give us a deeper look into the Soul community and how they work. I mean, what if it was the same damn story, that's going to get REALLY boring after a while, it worked with the Twilight series but The Host in itself was one story.
If Stephenie makes a sequel... I'd like to see it be about other people and other souls and how they live with the Seekers and all that ruling over everything.
