The Giver.Has anyone read this book? We had to read it in 8th grade and it's still one of my favorites.
[Have to bring this up]: I couldn't help but notice certain similarities it shared with The Host and I was kind of upset at Stephenie for not coming up with her own ideas but I got over it and realized that there are only so many ideas to go around and that it's okay to use an existing one and turn it into something of your own.

I love The Giver. We read it in seventh grade and I've read it quite a few times since then, including once in Spanish (El Dador). Have you read Gathering Blue or Messenger? Gathering Blue coexists with The Giver and Messenger brings them together completely, mentioning Jonas and Gabe.
