The Harry Potter Seriesyaay for Harry Potter...I love the books...and the movies aren't bad...though I'm sad they left the gold DA coins out of the fifth movie... and even thought JK Rawling said so...I still think Dumbledore isn't gay... and even if he is...I still love the books...and him...as a great kind of fatherly character...=)

I love the books! But...
I HATE the author. She's getting millions of dollars for the books and movies and she's still unhappy. GRR!!!!
Oh. and I was very disappointed with the 5th movie.

Harry Potter is my life, I'm currently reading the Deathly Hallows for the third time, and I've read al the others six or seven times. I have too many favorite characters to count and I have every detail memorized. I'm a Potter addict, you could say.
But does anyone else not really like Harry so much? I mean, he's okay .. but he just irritates me.
And as for the fifth movie, they left a lot out.. so only people who actually read the books really understand. And that whole part at the end when Voldy is possessing Harry, and Harry is all " i have friends and you don't! And i feel sorry for you!" it's cheesy and never happened in the books. And Dumbledore is so mean in the fifth movie! He's like, a grumpy old man, it bugs me.

yaay POTTER FANS...woot...I agree with both of you...the fifth movie wasn't good...but the gold coins bugged me most...harry can bug me sometimes...but I guess it's okay...because everyone just says he's been through so much...but yah...lots of self pity...but oh well...I love Ron... hilarious...and fred and george too...and lupin...oh and Sirius...cried soo much when he died...
Wait what...I didn't know that JK Rawling wasn't happy...why...wheredya hear that...though now that I've heard it..."GRR" I agree...=)

J.K.R says she doesn't want to write any more HP books because she has too much money already. pffft .
Also, Sirius, Fred, George, Ron, Kreacher, Dobby and Lupin are the best characters! And i like Snape too. Even the Malfoys redeem themselves in the end.

But as terrible as she can be...JK Rowling wrote nice books...but in the end there are so many nice characters...it's hard to pick...

when you think about it, she's a genius!
she walked into a cafe one day and created a world!
not just a world though, a world with about fifty well thought out characters and an intricate, detailed plot.
i recently read the deathly hallows for the third time, and discovered something really cool. when ron, hermione and harry were at the lovegood household, hermione is explaining the erumpent horn, sayig she read about it in fantastic beasts and where to find them. for some reason i was then possessed to find MY small copy of fantastic beasts and where to find them ( a mini book that JKR has written years before the final book, mind you) and look up "Erumpent". sure enough it was in there, along with all the information hermione had described. also, theres the invisibility cloak, that is SUCH a huge part of the story, yet we don't even know it is until the seventh book. And if you read the fifth book again, you'll notice in one little sentence she mentions the locket, just out of someones observation, and we all know that becomes a huge part as well. really, it's all very amazing that she could create and hold onto all this information and ideas! completely mind-blowing!

okay...whoa...I didn't notice all that...but now...wow...she is amazing...and she had all of this thought out...like way before she wrote it...and the connections she made (and you pointed out) wow...okay... definately going to read the deathly hallows again...=)

they really want you to "experience the magic" of the wizarding world. so they are gonna build the hogwarts castle and other stuff, and have new state of the art rides.
it's at universal studios in florida.

I'm a theme park type person, so this is my dream.
but back to the books themselves, i had a few questions..
1. on the cover of the first book (the philosopher's stone) the front shows harry at platform 9 and 3/4, but on the back there is a man with brown hair, a short brown beard, and wizard robes. who is he?
2. does Ron ever complete his collection on chocolate frog cards?
3. what ever happens to trevor the toad? after a certain point in the books we stop hearing about him and i forget if it mentions what happened to him.

1. I have no frickin clue.... I'm used to the US cover which has Harry on a broom catching a snitch for the cover of the first book.
2. I doubt he did. He had like 500 or something like that? And chances are there were more famous wizards coming out that would be on the cards. haha
3. I dunno... Trevor does just sorta disappear... oh well.. we'll say he passed away. >>

OMG I had no idea they were building a Theme Park for Harry Potter. I am so excited. I live for theme parks!!! That is so cool.
Also about the Trevor thing.... I always just assumed he died. =[

Why is the U.S. version of the first book called the Sorcerer's Stone? I mean, it's about a "real" thing, the Philosopher's Stone. (Meaning that the stone isn't real, but the attempts at making it were.) My only idea is that they thought us U.S. kids were too dumb to know what a philosopher is, but that seems pretty darn silly. So yeah... just wondering about this.... maybe someone knows the answer...
