The Host MovieWould you like to see the Host as a movie?
and if they made the host into a movie, who would you cast as the parts?
I'm guessing people are pretty keen on Ian Somerhalder for Ian?

I wouldn't. I think it's better as a book and if they turn it into a movie I would prefer they get actors/actresses who are brand new to the acting world. No offense to anyone but I don't like who people have picked for Mel and Ian. I think there's guys and girls who are better looking and more fit to the roles. Again. No offense to anyone.

I haven't noticed, but who have people 'picked' for Mel?

idk about character selection
for some reason i haven't really got any strong metal images for any of the characters. Maybe they're all just a little too good looking for refugees that live in the desert though.

lol, yep that's it.
Even if they were a little beautiful before they had to hide-u'd think that they would look more disheveled that SM wrote.
I mean look at how Wanda looked after around 2 weeks AND walking in the desert.
They cant wash thier clothes really often, either do thier clothes would look discusting

they do mention it a bit. the whole clothes thing, like when wanda starts going on raids, i'm sure SM says that she has to get new clothes every so often.
but yeah. i see what you mean lol.

If they did make it into a movie... they're gonna have to cut out a lot of the beginning since everyone finds it so friggin boring... then what would be the point?? it'd be a sucky, choppy movie then... in my opinion.... it'd be kinda like the fifth harry potter movie... >>

i don't think they could make a movie
first of all, how would they display mel?
if you weren't reading it it would seem very confusing.
just a random voice?

|
probaly, I mean that would work

it wouldn't work because Mel and Wanda have the same voice while Wanda is inside Mel. Then you'd be having two people's voice who are totally different characters but the same persons voice... I'd get confused. But if it's good enough... they'll try to make it into a movie. they always do.

It wouldnt be the same voice-it's 2 diff ppl

Yeah, there would be a lot of the voices talking to each other...
And they would also probably do something really lame for the Souls out of their host, you know?
|

the only way the voices would be different is if Wanda and Mel were talking in the head... otherwise outside the conversation would be completely the same voice. I've thought it over... alot and I PRAY they don't make a movie of this book... some books... just need to be left AS books. (sorry to say)

mel's voice could be like in scrubs when J.D. does the narration. and its all kind of echoey. do you know what i mean? and its the same but different, and you sort of know he's not saying in out loud.
that was a really bad explanation sorry...

I would love to see The Host made into a movie but the two-girls-in-one-head would be a big problem, I think. The whole voice-over thing will work nicely for Twilight when the wolves need to communicate but I don't know how they will do two separate voices for one person- especially since most of the dialogue by Melanie/Wanda (a main character) is done mentally. I don't think producers/directors will accept that as good movie material.

Yeah the voices would be a problem but when they figure out a way it'll probably be a good movie
I'd definitely see The Host movie XD

I think that is should stay a book. I absolutely love the book, but I just don't think they could ever do it justice. Like with the voices, it would just sound cheesy I think.
Now with that being said, if the make The Host into a movie, I will be at the midnight showing. XD

I don't like Stephenie Meyer's idea of having big-name actors playing the roles. I would like to see some new people. I think seeing the same ol' stars playing the characters would ruin the movie for me because it would be a lot harder to imagine them as being the actual characters. I don't think Stephenie should doubt that some of the newer people might have just as much or more talent than others who have been in the business for awhile.
And Ian Somer-whatever for Ian is a big NO WAY. I don't think he's attractive at all and he's nothing like I imagined Ian. I like Steph's idea of Casey Affleck the most, and I wouldn't consider him a bigshot.... so he'll work

Yeah I wouldn't think of him as a star either... And he reminds me of Ian. Not exactly how I pictured him, but I could see him as Ian.
