Wasn't a Stephanie Meyer fan until...A friend of mine raved about the Twilight series and I decided to read it early this year. I have read all the books in the Twilight series and was entertained, but was not converted to fan status until I read The Host. It wasn't even necessarilly the story, but the deeper topics... Mind, Body, and Soul. I never thought very much about the strength of each of these as an individual entity, but enjoyed the distinction of the three in the story. I feel a power that the deeper 'me', my soul, has the power to over come the urges of the body and the confusion of the mind. Although as a human I wanted Melanie to win the struggle, an inner part of me cheered the triumph of Wanda "the soul" to shut Melanie "the mind" out. I want to explore these three parts of myself more thouroughly after reading this book.
